City Building Maintenance

Mission

To provide and maintain safe, healthy and accessible environments and infrastructure in a sustainable, cost effective manner for the Public and for City Staff in support of the goals and objectives of the City of Bismarck.  

Responsibilities

  • Operation, service, repair and maintenance of building HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems and controls.
  • Condition Assessment of City of Bismarck buildings, identifying repairs needed, coordinating consultants and contractors and monitoring work.
  • Coordinating service contracts for Snow Removal, Lawn Care and Natural Gas supplies.
  • Coordinating and monitoring consultants for building studies and new construction.
  • Maintenance, repair and minor renovation of interior walls, doors, ceilings, cabinets and equipment.  
  • Maintenance of exterior walls, roofs, windows, doors and adjacent sidewalks.
  • Support of City Staff in fulfilling service requests for work area needs.

  • Support is also provided as needed for buildings at the Water Treatment Plant, Wastewater Treatment Plant, Convention and Visitors Bureau, and BisMan Transit.
