Memorial Tree Planting

Dedications & Memorials
Doc1-1.jpg

The Forestry Division and Bismarck Parks and Recreation District receive many inquiries about planting trees to honor someone or to commemorate a special event. The Parks and Recreation District works with individuals, families, service clubs, and organizations to find the right species of tree and the right planting area to mark their special event. Planting sites are available in local parks, recreation areas, and along walking trails. For more information, contact the Bismarck Parks and Recreation District at (701) 222-6455 or fill out the online request form which will be routed to the Parks and Recreation District.

To commemorate the dedication of the tree, a bronze plaque may be placed near the tree. Plaques need to be mounted in concrete and set in the ground. The tree and plaque are selected and paid for by the family or group requesting the planting and need to be approved by the Parks and Recreation District prior to placement.
