BISMARCK, N.D.— The City of Bismarck Community Development Department will hold several community input opportunities throughout the month of October and November for the Land Development Code project.
In the fall of 2024, the City of Bismarck launched an effort to overhaul Title 14, the City’s current zoning code regulations, to create a Land Development Code (LDC). The LDC is the set of regulations that guide how development should occur in the community.
In an effort to spread awareness of the project and gather input from community residents, city staff and their consultants have been attending several community events including Bismarket and the Street Fair. “We want to make it easier for people to share their thoughts on this project by going to places and events where they are already,” said Acting Community Development Director Daniel Nairn.
To keep the community dialogue going for this project, Community Development Department staff will be holding input opportunities at two local coffee shops in October and November. Staff will be holding these opportunities both in the morning and afternoon in an effort to engage with more community residents.

“This project is a once-in-a generation opportunity,” said Nairn. “We want to make sure it reflects our community priorities both now and for in the future.”
