BISMARCK, ND—A 43-year-old Bismarck man is in the hospital in critical condition after he intervened in a domestic assault that occurred between Jeremy Krueger-Grinnell, 33, of Bismarck and his girlfriend, a 36-year-old Bismarck woman last night. Krueger-Grinnell was out on bond less than four hours from a previous domestic assault and order prohibiting contact violation.
Officers responded to the area of 1700 Volk Dr. around 8 pm yesterday for a reported domestic that had spilled out into the residential area. When they arrived, they found a 43-year-old Bismarck man unconscious and bleeding from an apparent head wound. The 43-year-old man was treated for injuries and rushed to a local hospital by Metro Ambulance.
Witnesses on scene told officers that Krueger-Grinnell strangled his 36-year-old girlfriend numerous times, to the point that she lost consciousness. Additionally, he made threats to her life while doing so. Two kids, a 4 and 5-year-old, told the neighbors about the assault and they assisted with trying to break up the domestic.
Krueger-Grinnell body slammed the 43-year-old on his head in the street, and continued to strike him in the head causing the severe injuries that placed the 43-year-old in critical condition at a local hospital.
While arresting Krueger-Grinnell, he fought with officers while they tried to get him in a squad car, ultimately kicking an officer in the genitals.
Krueger-Grinnell was taken to the Burleigh Morton Detention Center and is awaiting an initial appearance on Attempted Homicide, Aggravated Assault, Assault on a Police Officer, and numerous other charges.
