[ARCHIVED] Bismarck HRC Accepting Individual, Organization Nominations for Annual Humanitarian Award

Bismarck Human Relations Committee Logo

The City of Bismarck’s Human Relations Committee (HRC) is seeking applications for its annual Humanitarian Award. The award honors an individual, business or non-profit organization that has exhibited leadership, with a focus on educating, identifying, protecting and promoting acceptance and respect for diversity while discouraging discrimination.

The deadline date for the Human Relations Committee to receive nominations is Saturday, August 31. Submissions may be made online through a form on the HRC page on the City of Bismarck website or mailed/delivered/emailed to the City of Bismarck Administration Department:

The Bismarck’s Dream Center and Sister Kathleen Atkinson were recognized last year for the award. The Dream Center was nominated because of the many individuals and households it helps feed daily. Atkinson was nominated for her work in supporting individuals and families navigating transitional times such as re-entry into society after serving in prison or homelessness.

The purpose of the HRC is to create an atmosphere of inclusion, equality and accessibility through education and outreach to recognize the value of a diverse community. For more information, to submit an online application for this year’s award, and to see the full list of award recipients visit the HRC page on our website
