Bismarck-Mandan residents impacted by the 2011 flood are faced with a shortage of space to store their belongings. The Bismarck-Mandan Chamber is requesting member and non-member businesses and area residents to consider extending flood victims the use of any available space for storage.
Two surveys have been posted online at www.bismarckmandan.com. Button ad links appear on the left hand side of the screen. Community members and area businesses with storage space available, should click on the bright yellow box that says, "I have storage available." Flood victims in need of storage should click on the blue box that reads, "Flood storage request."
Chamber staff will collect information from those that have space and those that need it and will begin matching parties. Please note that the Chamber will attempt to assist as many residents as possible, but that they cannot guarantee a connection. Also, the Chamber urges people to use the website exclusively to relay their information. This method will allow staff to efficiently process the requests.
Once matches are made, the Chamber encourages flood victims and storage space volunteers to make the appropriate agreements and arrangements to protect and access the stored items. The Chamber is serving as a connecting agency only and will not be responsible for any items or agreements.
