[ARCHIVED] Bismarck’s Spring Clean-Up Week: May 15-18

The City of Bismarck's Spring Clean-Up week is May 15-18, 2023 for collection. Special items may be taken to the landfill during clean-up week. 

  

Landfill Disposal During Clean-up Week:

Bismarck residents who display their recent City of Bismarck utility bill or their driver’s license with Bismarck address will have free disposal at the landfill May 15-20, 2023.

 

General Information for Clean-up Week:

  • All garbage and special items must be out by 6:00 a.m. on the regular scheduled garbage day.
  • Place items for special pick-up on the boulevard.
  • Garbage must be bagged and placed at normal collection point.
  • Separate items for collection. This allows us to recycle tires, metals, woods, appliances, etc.
  • Items will be picked up in varied timelines by the type and purpose of the equipment.
  • In addition to the regular refuse collection trucks, we have several pieces of equipment collecting various types of clean up week materials for proper disposal.
  • Tree branches and lumber must be cut and tied in 4-foot lengths or less and no heavier than 2 people can lift.
  • No hazardous waste or liquids accepted on the route. Take items to the Household Hazardous Waste Center during hours of operation.

 

Apartment Complexes:

  • Place items for special pickup on the boulevard for collection. 
  • Crews will not pick up appliances or carpet from apartment complexes.  Items may be taken to the landfill. Landfill charges will apply.

 

Crews will not take the following items on the route.

● Decks
● Dirt
● Fences
● Remodeling Debris
● Rocks
● Semi-truck Tires
● Sod
● Tractor Tires

Hazardous Waste
 
● Chemicals
 
● Liquids
 
● Oil
 
● Paint/Stains
 
● Weed Killer

Monday – Saturday: 8am – 4pm

HHW & Electronic Center Hours of Operation
 
9am – 2pm on Tuesday & Thursday of each week
 9am – 2pm on 1st & 3rd Saturday of each month
