At approximately 4:35 P.M. on Thursday, July 30, the Central Dakota Communications Center received a report of fire and smoke visible beneath a mobile home at the 600 block of West Sweet Avenue. The Bismarck Fire Department was dispatched to investigate. The first arriving fire crew reported nothing showing from the outside. The fire crew established command, and went to investigate. Light smoke was found coming from beneath one corner of the mobile home. The fire crew pulled a hose line and extinguished the fire. An additional fire crew arrived on scene and assisted with a primary search of the home. Once the fire was extinguished, an overhaul operation was conducted to extinguish any remaining smoldering material.
Six fire department apparatus and 17 firefighters were initially dispatched to the scene with 2 apparatus being canceled upon arrival. The Bismarck Police Department assisted with scene control. Metro Area Ambulance was on stand-by for medical support. MDU was called to the scene to secure utilities. The mobile home was occupied at the time of the fire. There were no injuries to the occupants of the home. There were no injuries to first responders. Fire damage was limited to the underside of one corner of the trailer and determined to be electrical in nature.
