[ARCHIVED] Bismarck Mayor Bakken Announces Easter Bunny is an Essential Employee

Easter

Bismarck Mayor, Steve Bakken, announced that he’s designated the Easter Bunny an essential employee. The Mayor said he added the Easter Bunny to the list of essential workers so the Easter Bunny can make house visits this weekend, so no one needs to leave home.

“This assures that everyone including the Easter Bunny can continue to practice social distancing while taking part in holiday traditions. Kids can help keep the Easter Bunny safe too, by practicing social distancing, listening to their parents, washing their hands, and helping their parents out at home. Our City employees have been doing a great job of moving the city through this trying time and I am deeply grateful for the essential services they are providing during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Mayor Bakken. Essential services include fire, police, CenCom, airport, public works, and public health.

Mayor Bakken extends his gratitude to city employees, healthcare workers, and to everyone in the community for the way they’ve come together in the fight to slow the spread of COVID-19. “I am deeply grateful to our citizens for coming together and doing their part during this pandemic. I extend my best wishes to all for a safe and Happy Easter with their loved ones.”
