The City of Bismarck announces the following candidates for the June 9, 2020 primary election. The candidates listed below will appear on the ballot in the following order:
Board of City Commissioners – Two Open Seats
- Brandi Jude
- Michael Connelly
- Steve Marquardt
- Mark Splonskowski
Board of Park Commissioners – Two Open Seats
- Wayne Munson
- Andrew Jordan
Municipal Judge – One Open Seat
The candidates were selected after completing their Petition/Certificate of Nomination, a statement of interest and secured at least 300 signatures from Bismarck residents before April 6, 2020, at 4 p.m.
In addition to the candidate’s announcement, the City would also like to recognize the two measures included on the ballot.
Measure 1 - An amendment to the Home Rule Charter, to add an additional ½ cent sales tax for the construction of the Bismarck Parks and Recreation District’s proposed indoor recreation complex. The 1/2 sales tax would discontinue once bonds up to $108 million used to fund the construction of the complex are paid in full.
