[ARCHIVED] Bismarck Police Department to Host Community Block Party August 6

National Night Out 2019 Bismarck Police Dept.

The Bismarck Police Department (BPD) is hosting a National Night Out Community Block Party from 6 PM to 9 PM, August 6, in the parking lot east of Target, at Kirkwood Mall.  Bismarck residents are invited to spend an evening with neighbors and officers from the Bismarck Police Department.

The annual National Night Out event is designed to help strengthen neighborhood spirit and police/community partnerships while generating support for, and participation in, local anti-crime efforts. Officers from the BPD’s Crime Prevention Unit will be available to answer questions on a number of topics, including how to start a Neighborhood Watch Team.

Bismarck Police Department recently launched its new Neighborhood Crime Watch program and current has over 20 teams established or being established.

“Please join us for fun, food and community spirit, and help us send a message to criminals letting them know our neighborhoods are fighting back,” said Chief Dave Draovitch.

There will be free food games, inflatables, a dunk tank, and displays from local First Responders and the North Dakota National Guard as well as the bus from the “Fill the Bus” campaign.

National Night Out is a crime and drug prevention event that is sponsored nationally by the National Association of Town Watch and co-sponsored locally by the Bismarck Police Department. This year is the 36th anniversary of National Night Out with over 38 million people across the country expected to participate.
