[ARCHIVED] Bismarck-Mandan MPO Seeks Public Comment on Draft 2020-2023 TIP

The Bismarck-Mandan Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is seeking public involvement in the preparation of its draft 2020-2023 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP).  The public comment period will take place through Monday, August 19, 2019, concluding with a public hearing to be held in conjunction with the regular monthly Technical Advisory Board meeting.  The meeting will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, August 19, 2019, in the Training Room of the Bis-Man Transit Building at 3750 E. Rosser Avenue, Bismarck, ND.

The TIP coordinates and schedules transportation projects (i.e., highway, street, bikeway, pedestrian, transit, safety, enhancements, and other transportation related improvements) in the metropolitan area over the next four years, thereby making them eligible for federal assistance.  The TIP includes metropolitan area transportation projects proposed by the following jurisdictions:  Bismarck, Burleigh County, Lincoln, Mandan, Morton County, and North Dakota Department of Transportation.

The draft TIP also contains the Program of Projects, or identified list of transit needs, to be funded over the next four years.  If there are no amendments or changes to the Program of Projects this notice will also serve as the Final Program of Projects notice.

A draft 2020-2023 TIP will be available for the public to review at the Bismarck Community Development office at 221 N. 5th Street, Bismarck, ND, beginning Friday, August 2, 2019.

The public is invited to attend the meeting or submit written comments to Rachel Drewlow, Transportation Planner, at the Bismarck-Mandan MPO, 221 N. 5th Street, PO Box 5503, Bismarck, ND  58506-5503 no later than 9:00 am Monday, August 19, 2019.  Written comments may also be faxed to 701.222-6450 or E-mailed and should be specifically identified as public input on the Draft TIP.  Contact Rachel Drewlow at 701.355.1852 for more information.

To request accommodations for disabilities and/or language assistance, contact Title VI Coordinator or call 701.355.1332 or TTY users may access Relay North Dakota at 711 or 1.800.366.6888.  Requests must be received at least five (5) days in advance of the meeting.
