Mayor Warford recognized the God’s Child Project Founder, Patrick Atkinson, for 20 years of service and international humanitarian efforts as the God’s Child Project celebrates its 20th anniversary. The project was founded by Patrick Atkinson in 1991 and continues to maintain its worldwide headquarters in Bismarck, North Dakota. “The God’s Child Project assists some the world’s most vulnerable victims – the orphaned, abandoned and exploited by providing for their most basic needs assisting them for a future filled with hope”, said Mayor Warford. “Patrick is a shining example of leadership bringing pride and honor to the citizens of Bismarck and North Dakota.”

Over the past 20 years, the God’s Child Project has raised and educated 18,000 orphaned and abandoned children, and assisted tens of thousands of women and their dependents to break out of poverty, by providing education, healthcare, legal assistance, country-specific legislative action, human rights defense, and community development programs in the United States, Guatemala, El Salvador, India, and Malawi.
