The Bismarck Police Department will be conducting a community policing event tomorrow. Officers will be canvassing the Hillside Park neighborhood, getting to know the residents and informing them about the new Neighborhood Crime Watch program. This is the first neighborhood to get personal attention from the department as part of its new community oriented policing program.
“We are looking forward to talking to residents, face to face, and helping them see the department in a new light – as partners in the community. This is something our officers are excited about. …“said Sergeant John Brocker.
Uniformed officers will be going door to door tomorrow, June 18, 2019, beginning at 9 a.m. north of Hillside Park. The officers will explain the Neighborhood Crime Watch program and provide information on the other community policing initiatives.
The police department will continue the community policing initiative with a second “get to know you” event at the Kirkwood Mall on Wednesday, June 19, from 10 am to 2 p.m. These events are the first in a series of community policing events, which will be held in neighborhoods across the city throughout the summer.
