[ARCHIVED] Classic Rockers Kansas Name Bismarck Collegiate Symphony Tour Stop April 22

Though formed as a progressive rock band with more experimental synthesizer sounds, Kansas’ presence in classic rock continues to be heard to new audiences everywhere. To experience Kansas live is to hear “Dust In The Wind” or “Carry On Wayward Son" like the first time; to be at a Kansas concert starring a backing symphony orchestra is to be engulfed in audio magic only the way Kansas can do.

Kansas performs live with a backing symphony at the Bismarck Civic Center on Sunday, April 22, 8 p.m. Reserved seating costs $30, $35 and $49.50. Applicable fess may apply. Tickets go on sale Friday, March 9, at noon, and can be purchased at the Bismarck Civic Center Box Office (315 S 5th Street), all Ticketmaster locations, via phone at (800) 745-3000 or online at Ticketmaster.com. Doors open at 7 p.m. The Bismarck Symphony will consist of musical members from Bismarck State College and the Bismarck Symphony.

The band has produced eight gold albums, three multi-platinum albums, one platinum live album and a million-selling gold single, “Dust in the Wind.” Kansas appeared on the Billboard charts for over 200 weeks throughout the ‘70's and ‘80's and played to sold-out arenas and stadiums throughout the globe. “Carry On Wayward Son” was the #2 Most Played Track on classic rock radio in 1995 and went to #1 in 1997.

Inspired by their 35th Anniversary DVD “There’s Know Place Like Home,” in 2010 Kansas began their ‘Collegiate Symphony Tour’ performing their hits accompanied by various college and university symphonies throughout the US to help raise funds and awareness for collegiate music programs.

Kansas is comprised of drummer Phil Ehart, bassist Billy Greer, violinist David Ragsdale, singer/keyboardist Steve Walsh, and guitarist Richard Williams. Visit KansasBand.com for additional information.
