Utility crews are making progress on the south Bismarck sewer main repair and expect to complete the repair later Wednesday night. Residents in the affected area are asked to continue to reduce water usage by delaying dishwashing, showers, baths, and laundry if possible until the repair is completed.
City crews want to clarify that reduced water use is due to repairs to the sewer main system. There is no problem with the water delivery system. Water is being run from fire hydrants to facilitate flushing of the drainage ditch.
Residents will be notified through local media when the repair is completed. Residents should avoid contact with water in the drainage ditch until further notice.
