[ARCHIVED] Bismarck Police Announce New Online Reporting System

The Bismarck Police Department is rolling out a new online reporting system tomorrow called Police to Citizen.  Police to Citizen is used to report non emergent crimes that do not involve injury to others or have a suspect identified. You can find the online reporting the following ways:

Online reporting is a trend nationwide to assist citizens with reporting crimes that are not in progress. The benefits of online reporting for crime victims in Bismarck are citizens are able to carefully document the crime in their own words, list property with a great deal of detail, complete the report when it is convenient for them, and obtain the report quickly for insurance purposes if needed. This also allows Bismarck Police Officers a quicker response time to crimes in progress within the city.

The following are the six types of reports that can be completed online:

  • Lost Property
  • Identity Theft
  • Theft
  • Theft from a Motor Vehicle
  • Vandalism
  • Vehicle Vandalism

Police to Citizen not only allows for citizens to complete reports, but it also gives them the opportunity to see calls for service in the last four days. The information will show the call nature, block it occurred, and the event number for the specific call.
