Man With Previous Domestic Assault Convictions Stabs Fiancé

Christopher Moran, 34, of Bismarck is at Burleigh Morton Detention Center waiting an appearance on Reckless Endangerment and Aggravated Assault Domestic, after the 3-time convicted domestic abuser allegedly stabbed his fiancé and chased another man with a knife in South Bismarck on February 3rd.

Around 7:50 pm on February 3rd, officers responded to the 900 block of S 17th Street for a stabbing.  During the response of Bismarck Police, a black SUV was seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed, and nearly caused a crash.  That vehicle was pulled over by law enforcement and the driver was identified as Moran.  Officers on scene spoke with a 36-year-old Bismarck woman, who had a stab wound to the lower abdomen.  She informed officers that she and Moran are fiancées and that he stabbed her.  A 41-year-old Bismarck man was also on scene and informed officers that Moran was chasing him with a knife and that he was fearful of being stabbed.  The 36-year-old woman’s injury was superficial and did not require immediate medical attention.

Moran has had numerous convictions related to Domestic Violence since 2018.   He was taken to a Burleigh Morton Detention Center to be held on Aggravated Domestic Assault, and Reckless Endangerment.  More charges are pending review by the Burleigh County States Attorney’s Office.
