At approximately 1:19 PM on December 19, 2023, the Bismarck Fire Department received a call for a structure fire at a home on the 4000 block of North 19th Street. Bismarck fire crews were dispatched to the scene.
Firefighters arrived at the scene at approximately 1:24 PM to find a trailer house with heavy smoke and fire coming out of the rear of the home. The occupant was out of the home when the fire crews arrived on the scene. The fire crew confirmed that everyone was out. Firefighters who entered the house did a primary search and made their way to the fire. Firefighters quickly put out the fire and then conducted an overhaul to find any remaining smoldering materials.
Two occupants of the home were injured during the fire. One individual was transported to a local hospital and the other was treated on scene and then released. Additionally, four pets have perished. No firefighters were injured.
Fire damage was contained to the rear bedroom with smoke damage throughout the house. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
