BISMARCK, ND—The Bismarck Historical Society will be hosting a historical program on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, this time at Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library. The presentation begins at 6:30 PM.

The topic of this presentation is “History of Boy Scouts in Bismarck”. Local Scout enthusiast, Mark Zimmerman will provide a historical look back at the Boy Scouts of America, which has been a part of the Bismarck community since Scouting’s inception in 1910. For over 100 years young men in Bismarck have camped, hiked, canoed, cycled and enjoyed the wonders of the great outdoors. Along the way, these young Scouts made lifelong friends, developed leadership skills, performed countless hours of community service, and garnered an appreciated and life-long connection to the outdoors. Enjoy the journey of Scouting in Bismarck for more than a century—through a presentation of how things changed yet remained true to the values and principles of Scouting.

The presentation is offered at no cost in Room A of the Bismarck Library. For more information about the program, visit their Facebook event listing.
