BISMARCK, ND – . At approximately 12:35 AM on Friday, November 24, the Bismarck Fire Department received a report of a kitchen fire in a multi-unit apartment building on the 1000 block of Bozeman Drive. Bismarck fire crews were dispatched to the scene.
Firefighters arrived on scene at approximately 12:38 AM to find light smoke coming out of the main entry door, with some of the occupants evacuating. Fire crews made contact with a person who confirmed that the fire was in their apartment and that they had used a fire extinguisher on it. Fire crews entered the fire apartment and found smoldering material on the kitchen cabinets, which they quickly extinguished with a hand-held extinguisher. A cat was found in the fire apartment and returned to its owner. After fire crews ventilated the building of smoke, the residents were able to return to their homes.
There were no injuries to building occupants or first responders. The fire damage was confined to area of origin. The cause of the fire is ruled accidental.
