At approximately 9:43 AM on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, the Central Dakota Communications Center received a report of a flower planter on fire at a house on the 1300 block of North 18th Street. The Bismarck Fire Department was dispatched to investigate.

The first arriving fire crew established command and conducted a scene size-up. The fire crew reported a single family home with nothing showing from the outside. The fire crew made contact with the home owner who reported finding a flower planter on fire and the fire had extended to the vinyl siding of the house. Damage caused by the fire was limited to the siding of the house and a flower planter. Damage to the home was estimated at $1500. The homeowners were home at the time of the fire. There were no injuries to the building’s occupants or firefighters. The cause of the fire has been classified as undetermined.
