Gov. Jack Dalrymple has proclaimed April 6-12, 2015, as Public Health Week in North Dakota to recognize how local public health units like Bismarck-Burleigh Public Health, are working hard to protect and promote the health of all North Dakotans. This year’s National Public Health Week theme is “Healthiest Nation 2030.”
Bismarck-Burleigh Public Health recognizes the importance of collaborative efforts in the community to provide more efficient and effective public health services and programs to ensure a healthier community by 2030. To achieve these goals, Bismarck-Burleigh Public Health recently announced the formation of a Community Health Collaborative with CHI St. Alexius Health and Sanford Health to assess the health needs in the local area.
Renae Moch, Director of Bismarck-Burleigh Public Health stated, “When health care organizations partner their efforts to make a difference in the communities they serve, they can do great things. It is efforts like the Community Health Collaborative that will help our nation overcome the challenges in health care and achieve the goal of becoming the healthiest nation in one generation.”
Residents of Burleigh and Morton Counties can contribute to the health and wellness of their community by participating in the community health needs assessment survey that the Community Health Collaborative has developed. The survey can be accessed on the City of Bismarck’s website at survey link below.
