Citizens are asked NOT to place empty sandbags or the plastic diking material that they used for private dikes protecting their homes into the plastic recycling containers at Bismarck Recycling Trailer Locations. These items ARE NOT accepted for recycling.
When disposing of plastic diking material from their home citizens may roll it, tie it and set it out on their regular garbage collection day for pick-up.
When hauling empty sandbags to the landfill, dumpsters are provided at that location for empty sandbags and the plastic diking material.
Citizens bringing empty sandbags for disposal to the Bismarck City Landfill will be directed to the drop site location for disposal of empty sandbags. Dumpsters will be provided there to dispose of the plastic diking materials.
Unused sandbags can be returned to the Bismarck City Landfill during regular business hours from 8 am – 6 pm, Monday – Friday; 8 am – 4 pm Saturday.
