The Bismarck Fire Department provides fire extinguisher training, free of charge, to businesses within the city limits of Bismarck. Thank you for your interest in fire extinguisher demonstrations from the Bismarck Fire Department. 

What will you benefit from this demonstration? The benefits that a group of employees will receive from these demonstrations are:

• Information on basic fire and life safety
• How and when to use a fire extinguisher in the event of an emergency
• Hands-on training with the fire extinguishers
• When to call 9-1-1

To schedule a fire extinguisher demonstration with the Bismarck Fire Department, please contact Fire Marshal Owen Fitzsimmons at (701)355-1400 at least one month in advance of the date you wish to have your demonstration.

Please provide us with the following information:

• Name and address of the business
• Contact name and phone number
• Number of participants
• Date and time for the training

Here are a few requirements for the demonstrations:

• The group should be between 10-20 employees
• The business needs to provide one fire extinguisher per 4 - 5 people, and approximately 1 - 2 gallons of gasoline.
• No demonstrations will be scheduled before 9:00 a.m.
