Keith Hunke is the City Administrator. He is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the City of Bismarck. He started working as a laborer with the Street Department in 1982, an Equipment Operator in 1987, Shop Foreman with Public Works in 1990, Purchasing Agent with Public Works in 1992, Public Works Director – Service Operations in 1998, Assistant City Administrator in 2006 and City Administrator in 2016.
Keith is most proud of the team of professionals he gets to work with every day, and feels fortunate to have an incredible cadre of co-workers at his side, true public servants who work hard with such passion, integrity, creativity and talent. So many co-workers, department directors and elected officials have become friends, coaches, mentors and leaders not only for him but for many employees of the City of Bismarck.
Keith is extraordinarily grateful for the privilege that has been bestowed on him during every step of the way in his city career. The achievements and progress of the city that he has been a part of have only been possible due to the city employees’ support and continued dedication to Bismarck. Bismarck’s employees are second to none and they are the rock solid foundation of all the services that are provided.
Keith believes our city is a beautiful, progressive and safe place to live, learn, work and play. A place we can all call home and be proud of. He would like to thank the citizens of Bismarck for the privilege of serving as City Administrator!
