Proficiency Test Required for City of Bismarck Archery Program

This year, the Bismarck Police Department is implementing a proficiency test prior to being eligible to hunt and participate in the City of Bismarck Archery program.  The test will consist of making four out of five shots in a nine-inch circle, from an elevated platform at 20 yards.  The testing will take place at the NISHU archery range located 1409 Riverwood Dr. in Bismarck, ND. 

The proficiency test will be held on the following dates and times:

  • Wednesday, June 12, 2019 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, June 20, 2019 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

After completing the proficiency test, a certification card will be mailed to the applicant.  The certification card along with a valid photo ID, the North Dakota Game and Fish General Hunting license and Archery tag will need to be presented at time of application which will be announced at a later date.  Once again, the application process will be on a first come, first serve basis.
