Memorial Tree Planting

Dedications & Memorials
The Forestry Division receives many inquiries about planting trees to honor someone or to commemorate a special event. We work with individuals, families, service clubs, and organizations to find the right species of tree and the right planting area to mark their special event. Planting sites are available in local parks, recreation areas, and along walking trails. For more information, contact the Forestry Division at (701) 355-1733 or fill out the online request form.
To commemorate the dedication of the tree, a bronze plaque may be placed near the tree. Plaques need to be mounted in concrete and set in the ground. The tree and plaque are selected and paid for by the family or group requesting the planting.
