What is considered an Emergency?

An event or situation requiring immediate action; or any condition endangering or thought to be endangering life or property.


  • Accidents with injuries
  • Breathing problems
  • Choking / unconscious person
  • Crime in progress
  • Drowning
  • Fights or displays of weapons
  • Fire (or smell of smoke)
  • Other life-threatening situations
  • Poisoning
  • Stabbing or shooting

Not an Emergency

  • Abandoned vehicle
  • Barking dogs
  • Keys locked in vehicle
  • Late report of crime
  • Legal advice
  • Loud parties
  • Minor accidents (no injuries)
  • Power outage during a storm
  • Runaways
  • Weather and road conditions
